Infrastructure and Platforms Manager (Sweden, Netherlands, UK)

Axiell’s Group IT function delivers services worldwide from five co-lo data centres as well as through several different cloud providers.  

Possible Locations (hybrid or remote working): Sweden, Netherlands, UK 


We are looking for an Infrastructure and Platforms Manager who can coordinate and lead the global infrastructure and the hosting platforms team within Group IT, part of the Product and Platforms Engineering (PPE) division of Axiell. You will be responsible for a team of system admins (6 FTE) and network engineers (2 FTE) to ensure that Axiell delivers consistent and high-quality services to thousands of customers via our own data centres and cloud environments. You will be involved in architecture and ensuring that we grow the operational capability in line with our strategic objectives and customer growth. You will also ensure that our operational solutions and procedures are in alignment with industry best practice. Additionally, maintaing a strong collaboration with our R&D division is important. 

Reporting to the Head of Group IT, you will develop reports and high-quality outputs consistent supporting the PPE management in their work.  

About the role 

  • Responsibity for managing overall hosting and cloud platform day to day operations

  • Planning and managing computer operations and production support, systems and database administration and network operations

  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness

  • Managing and coordinating the team of sysadmins


You are a catalysing and inspiring leader with an accomplished background in IT, who has seen a diverse range of environments and understand the complexities of managing different technology stacks.  As a manager you understand the challenges and needs of staff at different stages of their career and you know when to delegate and when to step in yourself.  

  • 6 years of IT experience and a wide technical awareness and curiosity, with interest in state-of-the-art technologies as some of the older ones

  • You can manage an environment or data center yourself

  • At least 3 years experience managing a team (with at least two full-time individuals) of technical staff

  • An ability to manage both short and long-term initiatives in parallel

  • Intricate knowledge of the following domains: 

    • Operating systems like Microsoft Windows and Linux. 

    • Infrastructure (hardware – servers, storage etc) 

    • Data centre and cloud environments 

    • Hypervisors 

    • Networking 

    • Security 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • You are security conscious and consider it integral to your work 

  • Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions as well as documenting them and presenting them to management and our architecture function 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Good and flexible team player
