Part time Business Analyst at Smurfit Kappa

We are now looking for a driven, analytical and talented senior student (year 4) at LTH or Lund School of Economics for a part time (approx. 20 hrs per week) role during 2023. You will be part of the central function Sales, Marketing & Innovation at Smurfit Kappa Scandinavia. In this demanding and exciting role you will work closely with our Sales Director, Business Controller, Commercial Account Manager and the entire Sales and Finance teams across all sites and countries. You will also get the opportunity to do many other interesting things during your time with us.


About the role

The role as Business Analyst is a stepping stone for learning our business and creating a strong network locally as well as globally. In this role you’ll be working with everything from analysing sales and customer data to following up on customer contracts and payment terms to partaking in improvement projects across the organisation. You will also have the opportunity to learn and work with CRM, Power BI and other data analysis tools.


To succeed in the role you need to be analytical, love data , have a structured approach as well as being results oriented. Furthermore you have a strong drive to succeed and understand that the best way to win is as team.


You will work together with our Business Controller and together you will form an unstoppable party of two. You will report to the Sales, Marketing and Innovation Director and you will be part of a great team of experienced people.  


The position is located in Eslöv, with remote working possibilities and is a part time (approx. 20 hrs per week) position during at least 1 year, hopefully leading to a Master Thesis and further opportunities within Smurfit Kappa.


What the job is all about

1.       Monthly reporting (sales data and reports)

2.       Customer contract follow up (bonuses, paper prices etc.)

3.       Market share reports and analysis, market data and trends

4.       Supporting the Business Controller in various tasks

5.       Getting to know Smurfit Kappa!



We are looking for a structured, analytical and ambitious student who wants to join a multinational company with high focus on sustainability. For the right person, this is an interesting opportunity to learn the commercial side of a multinational company while creating strong networks and gaining on the job experience.


You are data centric and want to combine your engineering or economics profile with a commercial role. Moreover, you are committed to deliver great results no matter the size of the task.


You have a can-do-attitude and demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile in order to get things done. You want to make a difference and support the organisation with what you can best; no matter if it is analysing data or providing reports.


We believe you are in your fourth year in either Industrial Economics and Management or Business Administration.


You also have / are:

·         Fluent in Swedish and English with good communication skills, verbally as well as in writing

·         Very good knowledge in Excel

·         A Team player
